Inspiration for the End

For college students, the end of April means that the end of the school year is rapidly approaching. This time of year is usually pretty eventful, with finals, saying goodbye to friends, and the prospect of summer break on the horizon. It can be happy, stressful, bittersweet, and everything in between. Being part of Res Life only adds another dimension on top of these life events. Res-Lifers are busy with getting ready to close down their respective buildings, processing graduation (whether it be friends graduating or seniors themselves), and looking forward to what the next year holds in store. While I might not have the answer to sorting out all of these that might be on everyone’s minds, I do have a few quotes from famous individuals that might help put some of these concerns into perspective.

Making It Through Finals

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do” Pele

“Seeing much, suffering much, and studying much, are the three pillars of learning” Benjamin Disraeli

“You are educated. Your certification is in your degree. You may think of it as the ticket to the good life. Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world.” Tom Brokaw

“There are far, far greater things ahead than any we leave behind” C.S. Lewis

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Life the life you have imagined.” Henry David Thoreau

End of the Year Responsibilities

“It always seems impossible until it is done” Nelson Mandela

“You can’t cross the see merely by standing at the water” Rabindranith Tagore

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” Helen Keller
